The Ardie-Ganz prototype

In the summer of 1930 Ganz builds a first prototype of his Volkswagen at the motorcycle manufacturer Ardie in Nuremberg: a central backbone chassis, independent suspension with swinging rear half-axles, a mid-mounted engine and a streamlined body. He had discussed a small car with Zündapp's director Fritz Neumeyer before, but built it at Ardie.
